This short lecture will explore the Windkessel Model<\/em>, a graphical approach to understanding cardiovascular physiology and the mechanisms of blood flow control in the cardiovascular system. This model, inspired by physical principles, allows to simulate the behaviour of the arterial system and how it responds to variations in pressure and flow during the cardiac cycle. Its key components, evolution over time and relevance in modern clinical practice will be explained.
