Vygon at WoCoVA 26

9th World Congress on Vascular Access – 15-17 April – Valencia, Spain

WoCoVA 2026

This year, our presence at the congress will be guided by the theme of “Continuity of Care”. Through this lens, we will explore how continuity of care plays a decisive role in patient outcomes. From the first puncture to removal of the device, we aim to stand alongside healthcare professionals, providing tools, clinical insights, and best practices that protect vessels, enhance safety, and support patients throughout their entire therapeutic journey.

All details about our sessions and activities are available in the program below, where you can register for each session and add them to your calendar. Attendees are warmly invited to visit our booth to meet our teams, ask questions, and explore our devices directly.

We look forward to seeing you in Valencia for WoCoVA 2026!

Guardians of the Vessels: Ensuring Continuity of Care from Hospital to Home

There is a growing need for consistent vascular access protocols across hospital and home-care settings. Variations in practice and limited expertise lead to unequal care, increased risks and unnecessary hospital visits. This symposium will highlight the importance of harmonised practices and better coordination to ensure safe, high-quality and equitable vascular access management

Description:

Discussions will focus on the organisation of line set-ups, the standardisation of practices, the improvement of infusion safety and the fluidity of care processes, with a focus on actions that really make a difference on a daily basis.

The main lessons expected are:

• Making chemotherapy administration safer through the integration of Qimono in Oncology.

• Prevention of reflux and reduction of occlusions in multi-infusion configurations in intensive care with Bionector TKO.

• Simplification of handling and reduction of infection risks in paediatrics through the use of Bionector.

This oral communication will be led by four recognised experts:

This oral communication will bring together four international experts, each presenting concrete insights, operational methods and lessons learned from their own clinical environments , from pediatric cardiac intensive care to oncology and vascular access. Through their complementary experiences, the speakers will showcase actionable approaches to improve the consistency of IV line organization, enhance patient safety, support clinical workflows and strengthen team coordination across care settings.

Station 1

Optimizing insertion of catheter: Use of ultrasound for echo-guided puncture

This workshop highlights the value of ultrasound-guided puncture for all vascular access procedures. Participants will practice echo-guided insertion on phantom models to enhance accuracy and confidence. Applicable to every insertion technique (through the needle, Seldinger, or Modified Seldinger Technique), this training supports optimal placement of PICCs, midlines, CICCs, ports and arterial catheters from neonatal to adult patients.

Station 2

Tunneling, a key practice to preserve vessel health

In this session, Dr. Fangio will explain to attendees the key principles of tunneling. The attendees will also manipulate on phantoms to improve their practice of tunneling with proximal cut PICC and PICC-Port.

Pascal Fangio

Station 3

Plug & Play Infusion Lines: Optimizing Line Assembly & Error recognition

This interactive workshop introduces a structured, modular approach to infusion line assembly using a construction‑based educational model inspired by LEGO‑style learning. Participants will engage in guided, hands‑on exercises where infusion line components are assembled stepwise, allowing learners to visualize flow pathways, identify critical connection points, and detect potential failures in a controlled environment.

Station 5

Secure & Protect – Mastering Catheter Stabilization and Safe Dressing Change Management

This interactive workshop explores essential practices for catheter securement and dressing change management, two critical components in preventing complications associated with vascular access. Suboptimal stabilization, improper dressing changes, and small but avoidable handling errors remain frequent contributors to catheter dislodgement, insertion‑site infections, and therapy interruptions.
